Video in the Digital Age

In 2008, we saw the end of an era in home video, JVC announced that they were no longer making standalone VCR units.  The VCR which used to be the standard in home entertainment in the 70s, 80s and early 90s is done.

If you’ve still got a stack of VHS tapes, don’t worry. Since this was such a popular format of the time, there will still be players available second-hand and through resources like eBay for many years to come. If you have old VHS tapes, please store them in a cool place that is free of humidity that can cause mold.  Yes folks, we have seen tapes stuck together because of heat.  We have also seen mold growing on tapes.  If it gets that far, there is nothing that can be done to save them.
